Youth Empowerment program
We need volunteers and interns to join NVDP youth empowerment program to inspire and encourage Nepal’s youth engage them in community development or give them vital social and professional skills you will help to bring positive change to their lives and to that of their community by participating in youth volunteer program.
Volunteering is a very important part of citizens in the world. People can help the community in many ways by volunteering. It is important for people to help their community in as many ways as possible. In Nepal we set up youth mobilization volunteer program to help each other and the community national youth leadership development program is design for youth awareness and community service. NVDP is launched the variety program with the aim to providing quality service and placement for youth volunteers in a different field as per volunteers own interest of programs.
The aim of NVDP youth empowerment program is manifold first, it seeks to prepare Nepali adolescents for their social and professional skills. Secondly, is strives to allow them to develop the confidence needed to deal with the important issues affecting both themselves and their community. Community service and youth program has two folds aim to prepare them for their future by enhancing social and professional life skills and developing confidence in them to deal with the situation and issues that concern them, and to get activities done in children’s clubs, women’s clubs and community. It is therefore encouraging youth to be part of NVDP endeavor to bring changes in children and community which consequently develops their life skills and prepares them for their future career.
Working in youth empowerment program like youth club and life skills, English and career development and other vocational courses you too will become a part of the community. You will live with a Nepali host family, immersed in their rich culture and language and face with their challenges.
Requirements:- Volunteer must be 16 years or older at the beginning of youth empowerment program, volunteer need to have an open mind and flexible attitude to working in a new and different environment. The volunteer should bring energy and enthusiasm to make a difference.
Accommodation:- A simple room with a bed. We advise you to bring sleeping bag and mosquito net with you. Or you can always buy here which is 2-3 times cheaper than back home.
Meals:- Breakfast occurs at 7:00 am and consists of a cup of tea and biscuits. Lunch is served at 11:30 am and usually dall/bhat( rice, lentils and vegetable) dinner is at around 7:00 pm and is once more dall/bhat. The food is very simple but also extremely delicious and filling.
Start date:- Are very flexible, minimum time of stay in this program is one weeks and the maximum stay is five months.
